Temptation (G)

Despite being a prefect and not getting in half as much trouble as his friends, James and Sirius, Remus couldn't stop himself from entering the jokeshop when he'd passed it on his way down the street. So he quietly entered the shop, half hoping not to be noticed, and half hoping to spot his friends. He looked around for any new merchandise-he came here verily regularly, either with the rest of the Marauders or alone, as he was now. He spotted a couple of items, and whent to investigate them.

Walking into the joke shop, Adeline was trying to find all the stuff on the pranking list her and Clarissa made up. The things they did. Pranking was something they liked to do to any annoying girls in their dorm. Although this year they wouldn't be the same people, after all she no longer went to Beauxbatons. She looked around for the items and noticed some of them. She noticed a person looking at the same items.

"Um excuse me but can I get through here." She said as politely as she could.

Remus looked up, slightly alarmed when somebody spoke to him. But any student in a prank shop wouldn't care who else was in there, he reminded himself. "Of course," He replied with a friendly smile after his momentary panick had passed. He then stepped aside to allow the other girl to access the merchandise he'd been looking at. He frowned for a moment-the girl looked to still be young enough to attend school, but she didn't look familiar. "I'm Remus...Remus Lupin." He introduced himself, hoping to learn her name in exchange, which might help him decide if he recognized her at all or not.

"Thank you." Adeline smiled at him. Grabbing the items she needed she turned around when he introduced himself. "Oh I'm Adeline, Adeline Maurice but you can call me Adel. Nice to meet you Remus." Something in the back of her head kept saying something was off with him but she didn't know what. Surprisingly he smelled familiar. She hadn't recalled seeing him around before. Maybe I should ask Kat she thought. "You go to Hogwarts?" Remus looked around her age. Then again she could be wrong and that wouldn't surprise her in the least bit.

Remus nodded. "Yup...Last year. You?" He asked curiously. Her name, he decided, did not sound familiar. However she probably whent herself if that was the first question she had to ask...

"Same, what house are you?" Adeline asked. If she could find someone in the same house as her besides Rissa maybe she could get input on it. She hated moving because then you have to 'start a new' as her maman would say.

Remus frowned. So she was in his year? Yet he was still convinced he didn't recognize her. "Gryffindor...You?" He asked, once again turning the question around on Adeline so as to try and spark a memory.

"So you know Kat? I'm a Ravenclaw." Adeline said but seeing that he was deep in thought she put in, "I'm starting Hogwarts this year, I'm transferring here from Beauxbatons." She informed him.

"Oh," Remus said in understanding. That would be why he didn't recognize her. "Good, I thought I'd totally forgotten you, or something," He said with a grin. "And...Yes, Kat does sound familiar." Though he hadn't talked exessively with the girl, it was hard not to know those that were both in your year and house.

"Oh your not the first one to think that." Adeline reassured him. "So what's Hogwarts like? All I really know about is that there's four houses each with their own Quidditch team and a new Headmistress." To be honest Adeline was freaking out about starting a new school. She knew it would be easier than Beauxbatons but she knew about the dangers with some of the students to put it lightly.

Remus pondered how to answer that-he could tell she was nervous and wanted to convince her that Hogwarts was a great school-which, in his opinion, it was. "It's great...There's loads of cool classes, and the building's huge-lots of fun to explore." He said with a somewhat mischeivious grin. He decided he might as well be honest, and added, "And most of the students are nice...but I recmmend avoiding most of the Slytherins. But overall it's a great school. I think You'll like it." He assured her.

"I bet it is seeing how there seems to be students everywhere." She laughed. Seeing his grin after saying it was fun to explore it got Adeline thinking about the pranking supplies. "I've only met one Slytherin, Bellatrix Black, and she seemed okay but then again where we met wasn't exactly the best of locations." She was one interesting person that girl. "So hows the library at school?" Adeline asked him. He seemed to fit into the bookish category.

Remus raised an eyebrow when she called Bellatrix "okay." However, he decided not to contradict her and merely answered her question. "It's great-has a huge selection."
